Accelerated Technology's EDE Benefits From New Features in Microsoft Visual Studio .NET
MOBILE, Ala.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 18, 2002--Accelerated
Technology®, the Embedded Systems Division of Mentor Graphics
Corporation (Nasdaq:MENT), today announced that its code|lab Embedded
Development Environment (EDE) has been upgraded for compatibility with
Microsoft® Visual Studio .NET®.
Developers can build their embedded application in the
code|lab(TM) EDE v2 and take advantage of the newest enhancements from
Visual Studio technology including support for Visual C# (a
programming language derived from C and C++), enhanced editor
functionality, refined object browser and advanced window handling.
Earlier this year, Microsoft introduced Visual Studio .NET, a
software tool used to rapidly build enterprise-scale Active Server
Pages (ASP) or Web applications and high performance desktop
applications. As a plug-in extension to Visual Studio .NET, code|lab
EDE v2 implements the newest Visual Studio features while maintaining
all of the functionality of its previous version. Additional
enhancements that code|lab EDE v2 supports are easier access to
breakpoints, a more customizable build process and better support for
team-based development.
"It's important that we maintain compatibility with the latest
enhancements to Microsoft Visual Studio," said Robert Day, director of
marketing for the Embedded Systems Division of Mentor Graphics.
"Because it is handled as a plug-in to Visual Studio, code|lab EDE
continues to be the state-of-the-art embedded IDE that our customers
have come to rely on."
Accelerated Technology's code|lab EDE is the foundation for the
code|lab Embedded Developer Suite. code|lab is a comprehensive set of
software and hardware components that works out-of-the-box in a
configuration that is customized to meet the stringent combination of
requirements for individual product designers. code|lab gives
